Notes

This map gives an overview of the flight, using the turnpoints to plot the track.

Its small scale has some drawbacks - short flights and loop flights may appear as a single blob, and flights along the coast may appear out at sea.

Use the for a detailed map and flight track.

Height:1722 ftDuration:0:00 hrs
Speed:0.0 km/hDistance:0.0 km
Climb:0.0 m/secPosition:53.349860, -1.810950
Looks rough and a bit strong and a pilot who will remain nameless has just said he nearly f*** sh**t his pants in that last climb. I wait a bit, but gliders don't seem to be having any difficulty moving around and there's a lull...
Story 2
Track point12:30:08
Height:1804 ftDuration:0:05 hrs
Speed:29.1 km/hDistance:0.7 km
Climb:0.7 m/secPosition:53.350050, -1.820820
Someone's said on radio that it's nicer on Lords. I try it. It's no nicer, but it's reassuring being able to use thebit of ridge lift on lords take a climb back towards mam and get some height without leaving the hill.
Story 3
Track point12:43:06
Height:3083 ftDuration:0:18 hrs
Speed:37.5 km/hDistance:0.8 km
Climb:1.5 m/secPosition:53.354560, -1.802500
Foul nasty climb out... I think twice about going with it, I don't want to spend the next 10 minutes in the company of this angry thermal... But it's going up, so maybe it will take me somewhere with nicer air.
Story 4
Track point12:56:40
Height:3274 ftDuration:0:31 hrs
Speed:49.7 km/hDistance:6.7 km
Climb:0.7 m/secPosition:53.326900, -1.718740
Hmmm... Wonder if i shoudl stick with the plan to go to the moor on Bradwell, or whether to push forward to join the guy climbing on a Sky... I think i''ll stay here, it's going up.
Story 5
Track point13:03:13
Height:3480 ftDuration:0:38 hrs
Speed:36.7 km/hDistance:8.8 km
Climb:-0.1 m/secPosition:53.312860, -1.695040
Bit bitty round here, head for blackest bit of cloud. Mr Sky has boldly headed over the back from Bradwell but seems to be struggling.
Story 6
Max Climb13:06:21
Height:4373 ftDuration:0:41 hrs
Speed:48.6 km/hDistance:10.1 km
Climb:5.5 m/secPosition:53.303560, -1.681090
Yeeeehaaa.. Wonder if Mr Sky is going to make it into this.... If he finds this one he'll be up and away.
Story 7
Track point13:13:11
Height:5000 ftDuration:0:48 hrs
Speed:40.5 km/hDistance:14.0 km
Climb:3.0 m/secPosition:53.281200, -1.634790
Hoinked into a thermal... Quite looking forward to getting out of the hills, maybe the air will be nicer... But wowwwwwwwww look at the view, crispy clear for miles.
Story 8
Track point13:22:09
Height:5498 ftDuration:0:57 hrs
Speed:22.8 km/hDistance:18.4 km
Climb:-0.7 m/secPosition:53.253880, -1.585840
Push south along the moors, thinking I've left too early, I'll catch the front up, and the next bit downwind will be sinky.
Story 9
Track point13:34:14
Height:3139 ftDuration:1:09 hrs
Speed:36.1 km/hDistance:25.7 km
Climb:1.3 m/secPosition:53.191730, -1.531220
Rough little climb. Don't like it.
Story 10
Track point13:37:45
Height:3116 ftDuration:1:12 hrs
Speed:32.4 km/hDistance:26.4 km
Climb:-0.3 m/secPosition:53.186400, -1.523570
Was expecting tracklog to show a blip here somewhere... Juicy collapse, wing recovered well.
Story 11
Track point13:40:51
Height:3031 ftDuration:1:15 hrs
Speed:54.0 km/hDistance:28.0 km
Climb:1.3 m/secPosition:53.172210, -1.513640
Ooh nice climb i'll stay here, first pleasant air of the day: -).
Story 12
Track point14:07:12
Height:4796 ftDuration:1:42 hrs
Speed:43.8 km/hDistance:38.5 km
Climb:1.3 m/secPosition:53.096480, -1.418300
Time to stop dithering, if I don't push east somewhere here I'm heading straight for airspace: -( but there are a few blobby clouds crosswind, so it's worth a gamble...
Story 13
Min Climb14:47:00
Height:2204 ftDuration:2:21 hrs
Speed:39.6 km/hDistance:52.7 km
Climb:-6.0 m/secPosition:53.072460, -1.171000
Biggggg sink... To the point where I start looking at my wing to see if it's still there/parachutal/collapsed or something... Hope it means there's some matching big lift coming up...
Story 14
Track point14:54:56
Height:4386 ftDuration:2:29 hrs
Speed:20.7 km/hDistance:55.1 km
Climb:3.5 m/secPosition:53.056900, -1.146370
That will do nicely, vicious thermal going in the right direction... But look at the drift! The further i get from the airspace, the more north there is in teh wind, pushing me back towards airspace all the time!
Story 15
Max Speed15:09:53
Height:4980 ftDuration:2:44 hrs
Speed:70.5 km/hDistance:64.6 km
Climb:-1.7 m/secPosition:52.983530, -1.062420
Wooo that's quick... Landing could be interesting?
Story 16
Track point15:23:53
Height:1266 ftDuration:2:58 hrs
Speed:29.0 km/hDistance:72.3 km
Climb:0.7 m/secPosition:52.930930, -0.985400
Now this is really not fair. I'm trying to get away from the airspace and the thermals aren't playing. I don't' want to go downwind into the blue: -(.
Story 17
Track point15:57:23
Height:282 ftDuration:3:32 hrs
Speed:5.3 km/hDistance:82.7 km
Climb:-0.3 m/secPosition:52.828410, -0.931090
A climb! Off a factory roof... But I can't get in it, landing options are limited (horses in one field, crops in 2 behind that, power lines... ) time to give up. I pack up, walk 100m along the road, stick my thumb out and am offered a lift back in the right direction, which turns into a lift nearly all the way back, which turns into a lift to my car. Wow. People are kind. What a nice day out.
