Had to work hard for nearly every bit of this flight…
My 1st attempt at the Threlkeld quarry turnpoint resulted in failure to get back up onto Threlkeld Knotts. I had to pack up and walk back up for a 2nd go!
Base was only just over 3k and the thermals were broken and mostly not worth taking, fortunately it was buoyant air and I could make a lot of progress using dynamic ridge lift.
As forecast the wind had gone off to the south by the time I re-launched so it was into wind ridge jumping all the way south and I struggled for height getting the Grasmere turnpoint.
But I had a good tailwind on the way back. Once I got up on Seat Sandal it was just a speed bar blast back to Clough and then out to the quarry to close the flight.
Altogether very satisfying, another PB and my first ever declared flight! Must do more of them!
