A welcome opportunity for me, (winch operator, STC, ) to get some time in the flats, playing with different approaches to centering/ feeling the way to the core of thermals; frequently switching the attention back on to now, from wandering mode!
Kind of greatly under used the day. We got much better than forecast. In retrospect perhaps a triangle; but there where some big blue holes, which gliding across to get clear of Norwich class D, I allowed to sink me at only 3 pm with the sky still looking epic. Out and return may have worked better.
Wind direction backed almost 90 degrees during the almost 2 hour flight.
Good fun! Hope the next time is soon!
Thanks to Carl for the tow, Jas for being launch marshal; and the NPHGC for being in existance.
(I was flying light (40%? ) on my Base, so for me quite mobile wing, reluctant to use bar in anything other than smooth air, not my Eden 6. )
